Home Environment Summer

Summer time is hiking time by definition in the Pyrenees. The paths and mountain passes are free of snow and ice. It’s advisable to start early in the morning if you plan a long hike, to be at sufficient altitude before temperatures rise too much. In Val d’Aran we will find water in streams and mountain lakes through the summer, what is very nice especially in hot days.

When climbing the most popular peaks like Montarto, Ratera, Colomers, Saboredo, Restanca or Marimanya, you will be following well marked paths. But it’s always interesting to explore less visited places and enjoy the solitude and the different perspectives of our mountains.

As knowledgeable hikers, hotel Mauberme owners will be delighted to make proposals attending to your experience and physical condition. Routes in sierras like Vacanera, in the slopes of Montlude or even a climb to the Armeros peak are some of our suggestions. It is always advisable to wear appropriate boots and have a good map at hand. Also never forget to take sufficient provision of water with you for the journey, the sun protection and spare clothes in case weather changes and rain occurs as temperature changes can be quick.

Finally a stay in Val d’Aran is not complete without a visit to some of the Romanesque churches. To finish your hiking journeys you can enjoy the Baronia de Les Terms with their thermal circuit where you will be pampered to recover from the exercise.
